Store love: Frida & Fauna

Today i'm featuring a fellow Pinterest pinner, Sophia Gardiner. I love her pins!
Sophia is a designer, illustrator, baker and artist, who lives in New Zealand with her husband, artist Mikaere Gardiner and daughter Frida. She runs a boutique fashion label named Frida & Fauna

Frida and Fauna is a vintage inspired, boutique children's wear label from New Zealand, featuring one off designer garments and offering custom ordered, hand-made garments for all occasions.
I asked Sophia a couple of questions about her gorgeous business, Frida & Fauna.

Sophia: I love a creative challenge and am inspired to make beautiful things.
Frida & Fauna began in 2011, when our daughter Frida (now 6) was just two years old. I studied fashion design and construction at university and hadn't really considered children's fashion until we had our precious daughter in late 2008. The label started organically with me making clothes for Frida that I couldn't find in stores, mostly vintage and repurposed.
The making snowballed as my friends, and passer-bys, would commission pieces and, after being encouraged by my family to photograph what I had made, a little online presence began to grow..
As well as children's clothes, I now make floral crowns for children and adults, as well as hand-painted wedding invitations and sign-writing, custom artwork, pottery, knitting ... and whatever else I feel I can offer!
